Sagra da Sujaca

One of the oldest and most beloved events in the Vibo Valentia area: the Sagra da Sujaca returns on August 6, 2026, to Caria di Drapia to celebrate the roots, flavors, and traditions of this culturally rich village. The undisputed star is the 'sujaca,' the Caria bean cultivated for centuries on the hills of Monte Poro. Slow-cooked in terracotta pots according to an ancient recipe, the sujaca is the result of peasant wisdom passed down through generations. During the evening, you can savor it in many traditional recipes, discover gastronomic specialties from local families, purchase artisanal products, and get swept away by the music, dancing, and performances that bring the streets of Caria to life.
