Nestled in the heart of Calabria, Agriturismo Il Maniero is located in Santa Sofia d’Epiro, a charming village in the province of Cosenza. Perched at 450 meters above sea level among the Ionian-Presilan hills and overlooking the Crati Valley, our estate offers a breathtaking panoramic view of over half of the province. Surrounded by ancient olive groves, orchards, and the lush Mediterranean scrub, our farm is a place where tradition meets nature, resulting in unique, artisanal products. Santa Sofia d’Epiro is a captivating hill town where history and folklore thrive. Here, the Arbëreshë culture—brought by Albanian settlers fleeing Ottoman occupation in the 15th century—is still very much alive. You can explore this heritage at the Museo del Costume e del Territorio, witness the vibrant Primavera Italo-Albanese festival in May, or visit the church of Sant’Atanasio il Grande to experience Byzantine rites and traditional Vjersh chants.
