International Madonnari Competition in Taurianova

In Taurianova, art takes shape on the pavement, transforming the streets into a shared story. From 31 July to 2 August 2026, the International Madonnari Competition – City of Taurianova returns for its eleventh edition, a premier event for street art enthusiasts. Over three days, more than 50 madonnari from Italy and abroad will create a stunning open-air gallery using coloured chalk. This ancient art form is brought to life annually, blending technique, spirituality, and contemporary storytelling. The 2026 theme, ‘The world through human eyes: between the sacred and the lived’, invites reflection on the present, focusing on human connections and daily life. Organized by the Amici del Palco Association and directed by Antonella Larosa, this competition is a unique opportunity to watch masterpieces being created live, engage with artists, and experience the heart of Taurianova in a truly participatory way.
